Paul Brenner squeaked out of Seattle Superspeedway with a narrow win. The third race of the season went to another fast track and pitted eleven cars to finish within two seconds of each other. NascarFan1418 and Colin Lindsay were a dead heat for second with #7 taking the spot. William Brock and Andrew Rich rounded out the top five.
Three Takeaways: Winners Leading: All three of the winners so far this season hold the top three overall spots in the standings. Brenner is highest up with 12 points over Stephen Willey and 14 over Barry Golberg. Wrecking the Leaders: A lapped car caused controversy towards the middle of the race. Reece Butcher was damaged from an earlier wreck when the leaders of Jonny Gardner, Nick Smith and Carson Scott came in hot into turn one. Smith ran into Scott and spun into Gardner. Conrad Cooper and Noah Kars were also involved in the crash. The Wall: The high-speed track gave drivers trouble as the turns were much more narrow than the previous two races. Many cars were scraping the walls in the turns as they topped 200 miles per hour. The second race of the season went to Lowell Superspeedway and Barry Golberg got the win. Golberg squeaked out the victory with James McDaniel falling in only a tenth of a second behind. John Green, Rampage and NascarMan#1 fill in the top five.
Three Takeaways: Willey Struggles: A race removed from his season-opening win, Stephen Willey got a 31st place finish this race, dropping out after 13 laps. He was running third at the time when NascarFan1418 forced him into the turn two wall in a wreck also eliminating Josh Harris and Gabryel Wanderley. Multiple Accidents: The fast two mile track brought upon more crashes than the first race did. In all, seven caution flags were waved and exactly half of the cars were left running at the end of this one. Flash in Last: The Flash might as well be called “The Crash.” Two races in and the #29 car is dead last in standings 66 points removed from the leader. He finished 40th at Bumpdraftin’ Superspeedway and 37th at Lowell. |
