DaleJrDude88 came home victorious at the big track outside of New York City. The #81 car took advantage of Rampage only taking two tires on the final pit stop at Meadowlands Speedway. Rampage could not run as fast as DaleJrDude88 could and made the pass to regain the lead with five laps to go. James McDaniel finished second, also passing Rampage who finished third. Stephen Willey and Andrew Rich grabbed fourth and fifth.
Three Takeaways: One Dropout: The race was tame on the accidents with only two caution flags on the day. Colin Lindsay dropped out after a lap one crash involving several drivers. Matt Johnson and tlove48man, two of three other drivers who finished at least one lap down, were also involved. Dan Bandon had an issue on pit road dropping him five laps down and finishing 41st. Butcher On Alert: Despite his win to open a spot for the Chase, Reece Butcher needs to be concerned about his standing. He is 23rd in the standings after a 23rd place finish at Meadowlands. There are still 11 races to go before he enter the Chase races, but he is only 29 points ahead of the doom line. If he loses two and a half points per race to this line, he would be out. He needs to find some consistently good finishes since all the other Chase contenders currently reside in the top ten. |
